The sunshine can help you lose body fat or help you gain it

Harry Pointon Loves the sun, but what do you do in Manchester when the sun comes out and how does it affect your health and fitness goals?

I love the sunshine; it makes me feel really happy. Just a change in the weather but it completely changes the way we feel. This can have a positive influence or a negative influence depending on how you decide to spend your time in the sun.

When the sun comes out it opens up a whole new list of activities we can do that if in the usual British rain we can’t.

  • Barbecues, Beer Gardens, Beach day out, Go to the park, Sun bath

The list could go on for a good few pages, but I will leave it at that.

So what is it about the sunshine that can causes us to gain body fat, we’ll all of the above and much more if you allow the sunshine to change your rituals. Below I will talk about the usual mistakes and easy ways to correct it that can actually allow you to burn body fat instead.

If it’s sunny on a Tuesday and you decide to go and spend the afternoon in the beer garden when you don’t normally drink during the week, this is going to contribute to your waist line. If you are going to the beer garden instead of the gym this is a double whammy, that is going to result in taking you further away from fat loss goal.

So instead why not go to the gym first, and then if you really want a cold one take it to the park and drink it while playing football, countering this beer with some increased activity and a stress free fun enviroment.

It’s sunny lets have an ice cream, I am all for ice cream as a cheat meal, I love a pot of ben and jerry’s, but if it’s not cheat day or your following a strict nutritional plan that includes no dairy, then no matter what the weather is like you should not be having ice cream. Instead make your own ice lolly’s from real fruit juice.

The barbeque, let’s have a meat feast, no problems so far, but then the bread rolls, the crisps, the cakes and puddings all make an appearance and the meat feast all of a sudden becomes a carb overload session. Instead of adding all this sugary crap, eat your meat, put some corn on the barbeque, some sweet potatoes in the oven, make a green salad and enjoy it just the same without the fat gaining ingredients.

Basically what I am getting at with this post is if you have a goal that you are trying to achieve, you have to make sure that nothing can influence you into changing your plans. No sunshine as an excuse, No peer pressure as an excuse, No I felt hungry as I couldn’t be arsed having my breakfast, not the other half wanted a takeaway. Winners at any goal or any mission achieve their goals by staying focused and not letting any other external factors influence them.

Don’t let the sunshine destroy your dreams of having a better looking, feeling and performing body.

Drink more water, be more active, and chill out because de- stress time can help you lose fat.
